Sail through the Komodo archipelago on a traditional phinisi: meet the legendary Komodo dragons, swim with manta rays at Manta Point and snorkel the famous Pink Beach.

Komodo National Park is a string of dry, savannah-covered islands east of Flores — home to the Komodo dragon, the largest living lizard, and some of the best diving in Southeast Asia.

Most trips are based out of Labuan Bajo, a small harbour town that has become the gateway to the park. From here, day boats and multi-day phinisi sailing trips weave between Rinca, Komodo, Padar and the surrounding reefs.

It's a fully marine experience — short jungle walks to find the dragons, snorkel stops at coral gardens and manta cleaning stations, sunset on the deck and meals cooked on board. Two to four days is ideal.
