Bogor

Bogor, known as the “City of Rain,” is surrounded by green hills and blessed with a refreshing climate that makes it a popular getaway from Jakarta. The city is home to the famous Botanical Gardens, a peaceful oasis filled with rare plants, ancient trees, and tranquil lotus ponds. Bandung

Bandung is located at an altitude of 750 meters, giving the city a pleasantly cool climate. Its colonial Dutch architecture is especially visible around Jalan Braga, home to one of the world's largest collections of art‑deco buildings. You can visit Gedung Sate, the Museum Asia–Africa, a wayang puppet maker, or attend an Angklung bamboo orchestra performance. Jalan Cihampelas, with its striking billboards, is perfect for shopping, while the Paris Van Java mall offers modern dining in the evening. From Bandung, you can take an excursion to the Tangkuban Perahu volcano crater, the only one in West Java accessible by road. The volcano has twelve different crater mouths. Batu Karas

Batu Karas is a charming fishing town with a dark volcanic sand coastline. Take a walk along the coast and watch the fishermen return with their day's catch. In the evening, you can enjoy a delicious meal in one of the many fish restaurants. Many surfers come to Batu Karas, especially for the waves. You can book surfing lessons on the beach. Explore the countryside by bike or becak and take a tour through the green plantations, friendly kampongs, and interesting factories where krupuk, tempeh, Javanese palm sugar, and coconut are processed. Yogyakarta

The vibrant city of Yogyakarta, is situated in the heart of Central Java, is known as the center of Javanese culture, where skilled craftsmen create batik, wayang dolls, silverware, leather goods, and pottery. The city is the ideal base for visiting Borobudur, the world's largest Buddhist temple, where your guide explains the stone‑carved stories as you climb toward panoramic views of hills and volcanoes. Another temple in the area is Prambanan, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, is another major highlight. Dieng Plateau

The Karimunjawa archipelago in north of Java, consisting 27 beautiful undeveloped islands. These islands have not yet been discovered as much as, for example, Bali, and are therefore still wonderfully quiet. The white beaches, crystal-clear blue waters, and the wonderfully relaxed atmosphere make it a special place to visit. A day of snorkeling and island hopping is a must, discovering colorful corals, tropical fish, and if you are lucky turtles. For lunch, your guide prepares fresh fish on a barbecue while you relax on an uninhabited island. Karimunjawa is also ideal for diving, hiking to the island's viewpoint, or walking through the mangrove forest. Explore all the best beaches in Karimunjawa, such as Bobby Beach and Sunset Beach, by scooter. For the best view, go to Bukit Love viewpoint, where you can enjoy a fantastic sunset. End the day at the fish market, where you can choose your own fresh fish that will be prepared directly for you on the barbecue!

Semarang

Semarang, the capital of Central Java, is a lively port city where Javanese, Chinese, and Dutch influences meet. In the Old Town (Kota Lama), beautifully restored colonial buildings, cafés, and galleries reflect its trading‑past charm. Highlights include Lawang Sewu, a grand former railway office, and Sam Poo Kong, the city's oldest Chinese temple. Bromo

At around 3:00 AM, a jeep will pick you up from your accommodation in Cemoro Lawang. The jeep departs for a viewpoint offering a breathtaking sunrise over the Bromo volcano. As the sun rises, the volcano takes on a striking orange-red hue, creating a stunning spectacle. The viewpoint provides an incredible panorama of the other volcanoes within the Bromo-Tengger massif, forming a moon-like landscape. After the sunrise, the jeep ride takes you into the crater, traversing the vast expanse known as the ‘sand sea’ until you reach the base of Mount Bromo. At the summit, you can peer directly into the crater and witness the yellow sulfur fumes rising. The driver then brings you back to your accommodation, where you can wash off the volcano dust and enjoy your breakfast.

Malang

Malang, a charming city in East Java, is known for its cool climate, colonial architecture, and stunning natural landscapes. Ijen

Ijen is one of the few volcanoes worldwide where you can admire a unique natural phenomenon: the blue fire. Due to the high sulfur content within the volcano, blue flames erupt from the crater. To experience this natural spectacle, you'll need to climb the volcano extra early. The excursion starts at approximately 3:00 AM to ensure you arrive at the crater rim while it's still dark. You'll drive along a bumpy path to the starting point of the Ijen hike and then walk the final 3 kilometers to the top at your own pace. Along the way, you'll encounter miners carrying sulfur chunks of up to 60 kilograms in wicker baskets on their backs. At the top, you'll look out over the clear blue crater lake, shrouded in a mystical mist of sulfur fumes. Afterward, you'll walk back to the starting point, where your driver will take you back to the accommodation.

Meru Betiri

Travel by jeep through the tropical lowland rainforest of Meru Betiri to the remote beach of Sukamade, one of the best places in Java to witness sea turtles laying their eggs. The route passes small villages, mountains, forests, and cocoa and rubber plantations before reaching Rajegwesi, where the adventure into the national park begins. You drive slowly through dense jungle on a bumpy road and cross several shallow rivers before arriving at Sukamade. At night you will go to Sukamade beach, a ranger will search for the turtles. The enormous sea turtles weigh between 100 to 350 kilograms and lay between 60 and 200 eggs. With some luck, you can observe this impressive process. The next morning, before breakfast, you release baby turtles into the ocean and visit the hatchery to learn about their conservation. Afterwards, you return to Rajegwesi and continue to Green Bay Beach (Teluk Hijau), reached by a short jungle walk along a rocky path.
